weber AD230 is a synthetic, water-based dispersion of acrylic polymers.

It is used with standard adhesives and grouts to improve strength, durability and/or reduce porosity.

About this product

An acrylic admixture for use with cement-based adhesives and grouts

As an admixture to enable weber.set WF and weber.set rapid adhesives to be used for fixing:

  • Porcelain tiles
  • Onto a low-porosity substrates
  • Onto substrates where some movement or vibration is expected (e.g. underfloor heating)

As an admixture to enable weber.joint wide and weber.joint wall to be used where:

  • Increased durability is required
  • Some movement or vibration is expected
  • Reduced porosity is required

Features and Benefits

  • Manufactured under BSI Quality Assurance Scheme ISO 9001
  • Allows standard adhesives to be used:
    With impervious tiles and substrates
    Where increased strength and
  • Allows standard grouts to be used where limited movement or reduced porosity is required
  • Supplied as a concentrate

Mixing

Shake well before use

Adhesives
For fixing with impervious tiles or substrates (e.g. porcelain tiles or power floated concrete) where movement is not expected, add:

  • 1 vol. of weber AD230 to 3 vol. water.

When fixing where limited movement is likely (e.g. over-boarded wooden floors or heated screeds) add:

  • 1 vol. of weber AD230 to 1 vol. water.

weber.joint wide
When mixing with weber.joint wide for areas where movement is not expected but increased durability or impermeability is desired add :

  • 1 vol. of weber AD230 to 2 vol. water.

When mixing with weber.joint wide for areas where limited movement is expected (e.g. overboarded wooden floors or heated screeds) add :

  • 1 vol. of weber AD230 to 1 vol. water.

weber.joint wall
When mixing with weber.joint wall for areas where movement is not expected but increased durability or impermeability is desired add :

  • 1 vol. of weber AD230 to 3 vol. water.

When mixing with weber.joint wall for areas where limited movement is expected (e.g. bath panels) add :

  • 1 vol. of weber AD230 to 2 vol. water.

Application

Pre-dilute the weber AD230, in accordance with the mixing instructions below, and then follow the instructions for the relevant adhesive or grout, using this pre-mix instead of water when preparing the adhesive or grout for use.

When using weber AD230 in adhesive or grout it is essential to clean any excess mix from the tiles before it sets. Adhesive setting times may be extended when using weber AD230 with low porosity tiles or substrates. Grout colour may also be affected slightly.

Storage and Shelf life

When stored airtight in a cool, dry place at temperatures above 5°C and protected from frost, shelf life is 12 months from date of manufacture.

Health and Safety

Essentally non-hazardous.
