weber.rend dash is a pre-blended one coat dry dash render

About this product

weber.rend dash is a one-coat render designed to receive a dry dash finish. The ability to apply and finish in one coat avoids the drying times associated with two-coat systems. This allows fast application with shorter programme periods, thereby reducing associated scaffolding and site costs and permitting the completion of ground works at an earlier stage.

Features and Benefits

  • One coat for fast application and short programme periods
  • Factory produced for consistency of proportioning
  • Ready mixed – only water required to be added on site for ease of use
  • Suitable for hand or machine application

Colours

weber.rend dash is available in 3 colours, 675 white, 632 cream and 672 Grey.

A range of decorative aggregates are available to complement weber.rend dash.

Final colour selection must be made against an actual sample. Weber will not accept responsibility for colours chosen from any source other than an actual sample.

Colour samples are freely and readily available from Weber.

Technical data

weber.rend dash complies with mix designation III (1:1:6) as set out in BS 5262 and BS 5492.

Preparation

weber.rend dash can be applied to most, suitably prepared masonry backgrounds.

All surfaces must be sound, clean, suitably dry and free of any material which may impair adhesion.

Substrates must have a good mechanical key suitable for rendering. The use of weber.rend aid will provide an artificial key on substrates such as smooth concrete.

Mixing

Mechanically mix in a suitable batch or continuous-mix spray render machine using clean water only.

A suitable drill and whisk or tumble mixer can also be used when hand application is required. Gradually add the contents of the bag to 4.5 – 5 litres of water and mix for 5 to 10 minutes.

To ensure colour consistency, the materials required for complete and adjoining panels should be of the same batch number or be thoroughly mixed together before use.

Application

To avoid dampness and discolouration of finishes, rendering should be avoided below DPC or within 150 mm of ground level. weber.rend dash should be applied in one coat with two passes. Each pass should be applied by hand (hawk and trowel) or machine render pump then ruled level. The first pass should be left for approximately one hour before application of the second pass and finish.

Render thicknesses are as for traditional materials

● Moderate exposure overall thickness approx 16mm - first pass 10mm second pass 6mm

● Severe exposure overall thickness approx 20mm – first pass 12mm second pass 8mm

Thickness should not exceed 25mm.

Cleaning

All equipment must be washed with clean water immediately after use. Waste material should not be emptied into drainage systems.

Coverage / Yield

For each mm of thickness you will require approximately 1.8 kg per m².

When applied at 16mm thick, coverage is approximately 35 m² per tonne.

Note: These estimates take no account of wastage and may vary according to the type of surface involved. An allowance must be made for uneven and misaligned substrates when ordering materials.

Storage and Shelf life

Store in a cool dry place. Shelf life of unopened bag, in correct storage conditions, is at least 12 months.
