The Pinnacle, Limehouse Basin, London
The Pinnacle housing development, situated in Limehouse Basin, London, is comprised of 262 individual luxury apartments. It's location next to the Docklands Light Railway generates a memorable landmark for commuters arriving at Limehouse Basin Station. A twelve-storey tower forms a landmark entrance to the site, with 31 residential apartments and a commercial unit at ground floor level, each with a dockside aspect and at upper levels with panoramic views across the Basin, the Thames and the City of London beyond.
Specifier RMA Architects specified the high performance external wall insulation system webertherm XM in conjunction with a weberplast TF finish. webertherm XM is a lightweight external wall insulation system incorporating thin-coat polymer render and meshcloth reinforcement. The system will provide efficient thermal insulation for the building as well as eliminate interstitial condensation by creating a 'warm wall' construction.
In addition to the practical considerations that webertherm XM has to offer, the aesthetic appeal of a development is always at the forefront of the viewers mind and in this respect webertherm XM has a comprehensive range of complimentary colours and textures available to enable the creation of striking visual effects. The use of webertherm XM enabled the 2000 square metre project of dramatic elevations to be completed essentially joint free.
