About this product
weber.floor 4040 combi rapid is a hand applied fine smoothing compound with rapid drying and fast setting times. The consistency of the compound can be varied with the water addition. weber.floor 4040 has a maximum grain size of 0.5 mm and is designed for application between 0.5 – 50mm.
Field of application
weber.floor 4040 is recommended for slope build up and fine smoothing. It can also be used for repair of indoor walls and stairways. Any special requirements for the floor covering concerned should be observed. When the filled surface has hardened, and been rubbed down where necessary, it will provide a finished sub-floor for most types of floor covering.
Technical data

Substrate
The substrate should be clean, free from grease, weak surface layers and dust. weber.floor 4040 is designed primarily for use on concrete substrates, stone and ceramics floors. The substrate should have a surface tensile strength of at least 1N/mm2 (pull off strength)
Preparation and priming
The substrate should be mechanically prepared to remove impurities that might prevent adhesion and then vacuum cleaned. Surface tensile strength of the substrate should be above 0.5 N/mm2 when fine smoothing and above 0.8 N/mm2 when screeding. For heavier duty applications the substrate should have a surface tensile strength of at least 1 N/mm2 (pull off strength). The temperature of work area and substrate should be between +10°C and +25°C.
Mixing
weber.floor 4040 combi rapid should be mixed by adding 22-24% water, approx. 5.5- 6.0 litres per 25 kg bag. The material and water should be mixed using a drill fitted with a paddle or a mixer for minimum 2 minutes, until a paste consistency is achieved. Once mixed, the compound remains workable for approx. 5 minutes but no further water should be added.
Application
weber.floor 4040 should be spread with a smooth trowel. Any fine adjustment in the form of sanding, scraping or further fine smoothing may be undertaken as soon as the compound has hardened sufficiently. Tools and machinery should be cleaned using water.
After treatment
weber.floor 4040 accepts foot traffic after approx. 30-60 minutes. Before laying the floor covering it should always be checked that the structure has dried out sufficiently. weber.floor 4040 can be over laid with a floor covering after approx. 2 hours provided the covering will withstand minimum 85% RH. The stated drying time assumes good drying conditions of +20°C, 50% RH and an exchange of air.
Drying time
30-60 minutes
Storage and Shelf life
Approx 24 months when stored in a dry place.
