Yet another inner city development has benefited from the specification of weber maxit’s system alpha. On this occasion Mansells were contracted to redevelop the Stowe Club and Harrow Rd. Health centre in Paddington.

weber maxit Floor 4490 alpha screed was pumped at a thickness of 40mm on all 7 floors of the building. An area of around 4000m2 was covered using over 300 tons of screed. The screed gave a solid, smooth and level floor capable of taking the final floor coverings.

In order to comply with Part L of the building regualtions relating to energy conversion, Neonclass specialist flooring contactors incorporated 35 mm of thermal insulation into the floor build up. This didn’t significantly affect the overall floor to ceiling height as weber maxit floor 4490 alpha Screed can be laid much thinner than traditional sand and cement screeds.

The chemical composition of weber maxit floor 4490 alpha Screed means is dries quicker and more consistently than anhydrite products meaning follow on trades could “load out” the next day. This superiour chemical composition also means that there was no sanding or grinding required after installation before final floor coverings could be laid.

Using weber maxit system alpha gave Neonclass control over the construction schedule along with the capability to mix and pump up to 35 tons of floor screed a day.
