Change of use Challenge

Located between a busy road and a railway line and situated close to Heathrow Airport, Keith Horn Architects were faced with remodelling and changing the of use of an existing 10 story office block into the new St Giles Hotel. The project in Feltham, London developed into one that involved re-fenestration of all major elevations, omitting two out of three windows and insulating concrete ring beams and columns to achieve 0.45 W/m2K.
Bradford West High Rise Regeneration Programme

Two tower blocks, owned by Bradford Community Housing Trust, have undergone extensive refurbishment including external wall insulation work, new central heating, kitchens, bathrooms, windows, doors and fencing. The addition of a wind turbine on the top of each block will generate approx. 3,000 watts of power to light up communal areas within the blocks. This will reduce energy costs, which will be reflected in future service charges to residents.
