Keeping concrete dry is one way of reducing damage to concrete and this can be achieved by using one of Weber's coatings or sealers.

Problem

BS EN 1504-9:2006

BS EN 1504 Principle 2 is concerned with moisture control by adjusting and maintaining the moisture content in the concrete within a specified range of values.

Moisture control is used to control adverse reactions (such as alkali-silica reaction or sulphate attack) by allowing concrete to dry as well as preventing moisture build-up.

Solution

BS EN 1504-2: Surface protection systems for concrete

Methods of protection based upon the BS EN 1504 Principle 2 is the use of the following:

  • 2.1 Hydrophobic impregnation.
  • 2.2 Surface coating.
  • 2.3 Sheltering and overcladding.
  • 2.4 Electrochemical treatment.
