The resistivity of reinforced concrete may be increased by the application of external wall insulation, water repellent surface treatments, pore-filling impregnation or surface coatings, all techniques available from Weber.

Problem

BS EN 1504-9:2006

BS EN 1504 Principle 8 is concerned with increasing resistivity by increasing the electrical resistivity of the concrete. The resistivity of reinforced concrete may be reduced through the application of external wall insulation, water repellent surface treatments, pore-filling impregnation or surface coatings.

Solution

BS EN 1504-2 & BS EN 1504-3

BS EN 1504-2: Surface protection systems for concrete

BS EN 1504-3: Structural and non-structural repair

Methods of protection based upon the BS EN 1504 Principle 8 is the use of the following:

  • 8.1 Limiting moisture content by surface treatments, coatings or external wall insulation.
